You didn't want to live in Phoenix until you saw that sign?

hmm, seems you are easily amused. If you can prove there are at least 20,000 people who are as clueless as you, we'll take it to town hall and get more Florist signs put up.

I recently purchased an elevator light that is supposed to be from the First Nat'l Bank of Phoenix, Circa pre 1940 - salvaged at the time of renovation. I am trying to find any interior pics of the building without much luck. I would love to hear from anyone who might be able to help me identify this light as authentic.

When I first arrived in Phoenix from San Francisco in 2005 and was apartment hunting, I was so disappointed at the thought of living in Phoenix until I came upon this wonderful sign and the Willo neighborhood. I started to feel hopeful that Phoenix did have character, after all. Since then, I have grown to love my new city and its potential (which is taking form). These gems are the heart of Phoenix and make it unique. It's so important for them to be saved.

I wonder if such a garish sign would fare today if a business owner tried to erect it. Would local residents "worry" that it might be blocked? You have to wonder if "local advocates" are mostly about thwarting change.

Although I enjoy the look and feel of the old brick buildings I will support the leveling of the buildings this author has mentioned. A newer circle K, that many of you may despise, would be head and shoulders above the trash that we have now on that corner now. Also, im all for getting rid of the bus stop, the laundry mat, the barbershop (and the makeshift signs), and taco's De Juarez! You all can't be both for revitalization and preservation?!? If we want local business to survive we need more traffic. The traffic that is coming now to the OLD circle K and those businesses do not support our local shops. Sorry. Get with the times!!

Can we all agree that if the Circle K was instead replaced instead by a QT this would be okay? amirite??

No but seriously, how awesome would it be if they bulldozed the whole area, replaced it with nice green grass and made it a food truck corral?

unfortunately, "pedestrian-friendly" is the exact opposite of a 20-pump gas station.
